We offer classes to prepare for the GED and HISET tests.

We do NOT offer GED tests on this site, but we do offer HISET testing.

HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) Test Dates

Paper Test Only: Available in English and Spanish

Spring Dates:

Saturday, May 12th, 2018: 9 am – 1:30 pm, 401 Pacific Avenue, Alameda

  • 9:00 am-9:15 am:                              Check-in
  • 9:15 am-9:30 am:                              **Instructions (ALL TEST TAKERS MUST BE PRESENT FOR THIS) 
  • 9:30 am-10:35 am:                           Reading Test
  • 10:45 am-12:15 pm:                         Math Test
  • 12:25 pm -1:35 pm:                          Social Studies Test

Saturday, May 19th, 2018: 9 am – 1:00 pm, 401 Pacific Avenue, Alameda

**NO LATE ARRIVALS WILL BE ADMITTED~ ALL TEST TAKERS MUST ARRIVE BEFORE 9:15am (NO EXCEPTIONS).

 

Registration: No later than May 9th, 2018. (NO SAME DAY TEST REGISTRATION!)

  • 500 Pacific Ave. ~ Island High Campus (room 24), 3pm9pm (CASH ONLY)
  • 401 Pacific Ave. ~ Adult School Office, 9am5pm (CREDIT CARD or CASH)

All test-takers must:

  • Create an account on www.hiset.org; bring ETS # to registration.
  • Register no later than Wednesday, May 9th.
  • Provide current photo identification (driver’s license, passport, military ID) with name, birthdate, signature, photograph and address.
  • Provide ETS#.
  • Make payment.

Please note: You must create an account with HISET online BEFORE you can register for the test dates.

Fees: Cash, Visa or MasterCard accepted

Full battery of 5 subtests:

Current Alameda Adult students: $70  

 All other students: $120

 

Individual subtests:

Current Alameda Adult students: $20 per subtest

All other students: $30 per subtest

Scoring

Minimum passing scores:

  • 8 out of possible 20 points per subtest;
  • Combined score of 45 out of possible 100 points for battery.

Scores available 3-5 days for multiple choice tests; 6-10 days for essay (writing) test.

Retakes

Test-takers are eligible to receive two, free retakes within a 12-month period.
